Akshay Kumar is the only Bollywood star on this year’s Highest-Paid Actors list coming in at #6. A bankable movie star, he commands up to $13 million upfront for films like the upcoming “Bachan Pandey” and “Bell Bottom.” One of India’s most philanthropic celebrities, he donated $4.5 million to coronavirus relief in the country.
In just one year he earned $48.5 million, though, most of his money comes from endorsement deals; he shills for everything from multivitamins to toilet cleaners. He’s currently working on his first television series The End for Amazon Prime – his first Hollywood role ever.
Earnings estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders. All figures are pretax and reflect earnings between June 1, 2019, and June 1, 2020; fees for agents, managers and lawyers (generally 10%, 15% and 5%, respectively) are not deducted. The list of highest-paid actresses will be out next month.
